Scientific testing on the Safety Starts Here Strap:

Product Testing by OSU College of Engineering New Product Development Center

To test each strap, we used an engine crane to pull on the strap. A load cell was attached between the engine crane hoist and the strap so that the maximum force could be read. Below are pictures of the setup.

Each strap was tested once with a different loop being pulled on each time.

For the first test, the loop being pulled on was the top-most loop (the loop closest to the trailer connection point). This loop held up to 668lbs.

For the second test, the loop being pulled on was the middle loop. This loop held up to 683lbs.

For the third test, the loop being pulled on was the bottom (the loop furthest from the trailer connection point). This loop held up to 679lbs.
